Andrew Hislop's Grave

Andrew Hislop's gravestone was restored in 2025. The stone was cleaned and the lettering recut in July 2025 by stonemason Ross Muirhead. The original inscription was copied where possible, and where it was totally lost (at the two ends) the original content of the inscription was recut in the same crude style of lettering as the orginal. 

On 23 May 2026 a set of iron railings was erected around the gravestone by the Scottish Covenanter Memorials Association. The work was carried out by Scott Love, Derrick Phillips, Dane Love, Dane Love Yr. and Craig Burns. An information plaque was also included within the railings, exlaining the story of Hislop's martyrdom and detailing the inscription on the stone. The plaque also has the first QR code included on a memorial erected by the SCMA.
