John Neilson of Corsock

 

Neilson was the owner of Corsock Castle and estate. He took part in the Pentland Rising but was captured at the Battle of Rullion Green. He was sentenced to hang at Edinburgh's Mercat Cross on 14 December 1666.

Neilson's wife, Mary MacLellan, also suffered for the Covenant, but she survived, dying on 18 September 1697.
