James Gavin's Cave is located by the sid eof the Arnesalloch Burn, which which flows into the Douglas Water, one mile south west of the village. The cave is difficult to locate.

James Gavin was a noted Covenanter who lived in Douglas. He used this cave to hide from the dragoons on a number of occasions. His memorial is located in Douglas - click here for more information.
