William MacKerrell of Hillhouse

William MacKerrell, owner of Hillhouse estate, signed a copy of the National Covenant in Dundonald.

Dundonald Solemn League and Covenant

An 1875 book refers to the Dundonald copy of the Solemn League and Covenant still surviving in the church (it is no longer there). It was dated 1638 and had 222 signatures on it. Of these signatures, 179 were signed by proxy 'because they could not wryt themselfs'.
