The white-granite monument stands in the back of the kirkyard and around it are some old gravestones to the Covenanters. The monument is inscribed on two sides.
Dumfries Martyrs' Monument
The monument commemorates the various martyrs associated with the town. This includes the Pentland Martyrs, who were sentenced to execution in the town, and others:
