Peden's Cave

This is one of a number of locations which is known as Peden's Cave, after the Covenanting minister, Rev Alexander Peden. He is known to have preached at a Conventicle held here in October 1665. Rev Alexander Peden was buried in Cumnock, Ayrshire, where a monument commemorates him.

Peden's Cave is located on the north side of Craigie Hill. It is not really a cave at all, more a narrow hiding place between two angled boulders.
