Adam MacWhann's Grave

The headstone to Adam MacWhann is located in the kirkyard of Kells Parish Church, just north of New Galloway. The original smaller stone has been incorporated in a larger memorial.

The gravestone is located on the south side of the church. 

Adam MacWhann was captured and executed to the west of New Galloway. He was sick at the time. In the middle of the Galloway Highlands can be found MacWhann's Stone, a massive boulder where he is said to have hidden (NX 491802).
